For teachers

Teach the theory
while you play it.

Plug your keyboard into the classroom computer. Every chord you play shows up on the board, named, numbered and big enough for the back row.

Free for schools · No student accounts · Windows, macOS and Linux

Chord Display on the classroom screen: G7, the dominant seventh in C major, with its notes on the keyboard.

One lesson,
three moments.

Melodio follows the way you already teach: set the key, play the example, send it home.

01 · Before you play

Set the key for the class.

Pick it on the Circle of Fifths and every module follows, so the whole room reads the same degrees.

02 · While you play

Build the progression live.

Play ii–V–I and Melodio writes it down, loops it at class tempo and shows what comes next.

03 · Online too

Teach over your camera.

Any module becomes a transparent OBS source, right over your video for live or recorded lessons.

Questions

Before the first lesson.

Do my students need accounts?
No. Nobody signs in, and there is nothing to set up for each student.
Does it need the internet?
Only to download it. After that it runs offline, even on a locked-down school network.
Will the back row read it?
The chord name fills the screen in full-screen mode, and the colours hold up on a washed-out projector.
Can I record lessons with it?
Yes. Any module becomes a transparent OBS source, on top of your camera.
Does it work with my DAW?
Melodio can pass MIDI through to your DAW, so you keep your sounds and the class sees the theory.
What does it cost the school?
Nothing. Install it on every computer in the room, and on students' laptops too.
